[ two of them.... but, it goes for more than one way, really. from both the tendency to say sussy things, to an outlook on life that's shared. he doesn't really need to extrapolate.
fei du watches him, watches yiguo stretch out contentedly, luxurious. ]
Some people see children as an easier target. [ he'll say it. but, fei du doesn't linger on it, continuing. ] And some people prefer them for the violence of it all. Some people prefer to attack on the basis of a good fight; some prefer to harm others because they think it will be fun. Some people might as a moral choice, pick you, or me, or Wenzhou, or Kyoko, because at least we aren't children. Some people might pick us because they don't like us, or because of a petty slight. Some people might leave us be because we're pretty, or useful, or even just not to their taste.
I don't think there's any predicting it. I don't know where the moral heart of our group lies. What I know is that so far, we've proven that we're swayed by temptation, and as the weeks go on, we'll learn how the want to live will have people live and die. It's a long four weeks.
[ a pause. ]
I'd like it if you didn't die, D. Please try not to. [ this is like
a little bit of a joke. macabre. ]

D glances at Fei Du, watching him quietly.]
We'll get through. At least... some of us will. They will be the victors. I do hope you're one of them, Mr. Fei.

[He looks out over everything while rubbing Yiguo’s small paws under his fingers.]
